I love the midwest and small towns as such. One of the reasons I love it so much is cause it keeps the stupidity and rif raf out somewhat.
Granted I was born and raised in such a place, so I wouldn't "fit" in the big city either. If you move into a small town with big bling, people will wonder where the money came from, and what you are doing there. If your first move is to try to open a business to compete with one of the few businesses already in the small community, you can expect some resistance. After you file a restraining order against the owner of the competing business, you can expect the town to dislike you. The EXACT same things go on in large cities, you just can't see them as they do not have as big of an impact on the individual. You can't tell me that in larger cities in the south or on either coasts that there aren't 200 some odd people that hate a single family for whatever reason, and refuse to be a patron of their business. It happens, it's just not apparent cause the other million people don't give a shit. |

You don't think that in a city of 1 million people, I couldn't find 200 that refused to patronize a single business?
I bet I could find that many in Fargo ND that refuse to do business with WALMART! |

Big-city residents wouldn't give a shit. One liquor store or dry cleaner is as good as another. We don't need to make "friends" with business owners, or pretend to care about how their family is doing. ![]() |
