From Durango, if you ride east to Pagosa Springs and take 160 north to South Fork, and then 149 to Creede and Gunnison, you can cross the Continental Divide twice. Plus, you go over Wolf Creek Pass (Continental Divide) which already has almost 200 inches of snow. These two routes are very twisty and are probably the most scenic in Colorado.

Southwest Colorado expects up to four feet of snow from the first storm coming from California, and there's more storms lined up in the Pacific. Pineapple Express FTW, For The Winter, that is.

I've never been there, but if your are near Montrose, you should go to Crawford. Joe Cocker, the musician, has a cafe there that embraces motorcyclists: http://www.f6rider.com/Valk/colorado.htm.
