I'd be interested in seeing a comparo shot of the two visors to see just how much bigger the opening is.

Spoken too soon. The RXQ's visor opening doesn't seem to be any bigger than the old one. I guess it just felt "new" to me.

well it does seem to give a bit more peripheral vision or could just be the angle of the camera as you're slightly behind the old one... and slightly in front of the new
