Cruise Control or Not? That is the dilema.
I can't decide if I should add cruise control before I ride to CA and back via the long way. I'm concerned I may mind wander with one, but just thinking about a month on the road makes my wrist sore.
What do you think? |
i would have loved to have it on my last trip, its always nice to let your right wrist relax for a bit. but like every other situation with riding long distances you find ways to stay comfy. I tried learning how to use the throttle with my left hand... wouldnt advise it though.

Ask Drewpy for his opinion. Im pretty sure he put one on before the Colorado trip.
|
oh gawd yes!!! Do IT!!!
After my last weekend trip of about 8-9 hours Sat-Sun I would have loved it, merely so I could move around a bit! I will be getting one before I ride to ATL in July myself!! I am sure you'll find at highway cruising speeds you are paying ALOT of attention to your surroundings and wandering mentally wont be a problem. I also use music to keep my mind focused. |
They are sweet, have one on my 600. Going to get one for the 1000
|
do it!
|
ok, for those of you that have 'em, what ya got?
I want to put one on my 1125, and possibly on the SV if comonboys wants... |
I haven't got a chance to use mine yet... but I have one installed on both my Phoenix and the wife's Sporty
The brand is Cruise Mate, but he doesn't offer anything for rockets as of now. Could be something he should consider and I'm sure he would if anybody in the Mass area wants to get with the guy. His name is Tom and is one of the best biz men I have ever met. The wife's HD http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...iseMate003.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...iseMate005.jpg And my bdm http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...iseMate001.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...iseMate003.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...iseMate009.jpg http://i99.photobucket.com/albums/l3...iseMate018.jpg It is a nice setup, that comes with everything for install and GREAT directions. It even comes with the needed installation jig, drill bit, tap, and even loctite to do the job. Simple AWESOME!! |
Never felt the need for it.

What happens when you need to get out of the gas REALLY guickly and the damn thing sticks? I'd say go with a crampbuster (a lever that attached to the throttle grip so that you can use your palm to hold the gas), but not a throttle lock.
