Strange, when I saw the story this morning I was sure this guy was going to do life in prison. I wonder why they decided not to proceed...?

I can only imagine that it fell through because the Swedes aren't as good at concocting political hit jobs as we are?

I'd like to believe somebody's conscience got the best of them, but that's highly unlikely. Maybe they used the charges to convince Assange to accept the bribe they'd been offering. "Take $10,000,000 and keep your mouth shut....or go to prison to be raped for the rest of your life...

Nah, I've heard the guy talk. I don't think he'd compromise his integrity for anything...money or threats.

I don't buy that, every man has a price. The very real threat of rape usually does the trick....especially if your other choice involves obtaining millions of dollars.

Josh, while I agree this holds true for most people (especially today), there are still a few that are willing to die for their ideals. This country would not exist if not for those people, and for those people we owe a great debt of gratitude.

Of course, some of them are now in Sweden, but then again, considering how things are going here, I can't really begrudge them that...

I don't know where the guy is from originally, I'm just glad that he stands up for freedom...regardless of wherever he has to hide, in order to "get away with that" anymore...

I don't think man-rape was the generally used punishment for crimes when "those people" worked to establish America, as it is now.
