Bad battery?

my battery was dead again today. While riding its getting about 13.5v but if it sits for more than 2 daysit looses the charge down to less than 10v.

I let the battery go supper dead 2 months ago and its been giving me problems since.

Just needs a new battery right?

Regulator/rectifier is crap on older Hondas. It might not be sending the right amount of charge to your battery as you ride, therefore draining it.

How old is the battery?
I'd just replace it.

disconnect it overnight and see if it is still losing a charge. Something could be causing a drain.

I suspect the fact that he let it go "super dead" is causing his problems.

Yeah, that's like twice as bad as regular dead.

Can u test the stator and the vr/rect? Stator will give u ac voltage and the vr/rect will give out the dc volts, which shud read in 14-15 range dependant on rpm.

For the battery, marko is kinda right on just tt fact. However, pull the battery from the bike or at least disconnect it. Charge it to full. Full shud read 12.8 volts, then leave it sit. Re test and see if the voltage dropped significantly. If so. Dead battery for sure. Still not a bad idea to test the bikes charging system though.

I just got a new battery.

I'm sure its the battery. I let it drain pretty bad this winter. It was super dead, like AMJ hanging on the cross
