[FZR Taillight] Help........
I cannot remember which forum it was on....but someone told me their friend (?) modified the taillight on their FZR so the light was flush with the body. I cannot for the life of me remember if it was someone on this forum or somewhere else. :willy: If anyone has any idea what I am talking about...HELP! I want to push the light in to make it look cleaner. Thanks!
What it looks like now... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47.../Taillight.jpg |
Take the lens off and see what sort of clearance you have from the bulb to the surface of the light... hack the lens accordingly... I'd leave at least a 1/2" cause those bulbs get hot...
|
your prolly gonna end up cutting something.
|
take off the rear plastics and take a couple pics... I'm sure ya could figure it out... more than likely you just cut the lens... but they may have just moved the entire mount back into the tail...
but like OSP said... leave room cause the bulbs will melt that lens pretty quick (or switch to LEDs) |
Hubby is changing the oil in my car...when he gets back I will have him help me take the lens off and see what it looks like.
Thanks guys! :beers: |
Okay...so I opened the bike up and found a really simple (and free) minor change that could be made.
The taillight has these little bumpers that were facing fat side to the back... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47...ics/Bumper.jpg Once flip-flopped... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47...ightInside.jpg It sits a bit more inwards... http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47...Taillight2.jpg Before-After http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47.../1TwoSides.jpg I wish it was completely flush :idk: but it was free! :beers: Oh yeah...and I took off some extra weight while I was at it. :dthumb: http://i2.photobucket.com/albums/y47...xtraWeight.jpg |
not bad, not bad.
Free FTW. and wtf was it you took off? |
