How many miles do you get on your tires?
I just ride street, last set was Pirelli Diablo Corsa III's, got about 2,000 on the rear(almost bald from side to side) bout 2,300 on the front
set before those were Pirelli Diablos, got about the same out of them this bike destroys rear tires for sure |
This is something that I don't want to think about......
|
I use Michelin Pilot Roads. I can average 11,000 out of a set with the touring that I do.
Not too bad if I say so myself! :D |
Got 3K out of each of my rear Corsa III's. 6K out of the front.
Hope to get 5-6 out of the set of PP's now, but I liked the feel of the Corsa's better. Got 11K out of the stockers on the SV... but they sucked all around. Now comonboys put Roads on it, should last another 11K. |
The corsa IIIs are pretty soft, I get less miles on them on a 600 over the PPs. Usually around 4k or so, compared to 5-6k with my PPs. I wear both tires pretty evenly, so I usually replace both at the same time. I usually wear the sides faster than the middle. Especially the lefts.

The last set I got about 7000 out of, but the wear bands were showing bad when I changed them (Continental Conti-Forces) The current set has about 4000 and they're about half done (Maxxis Supermaxx). I commute and day ride. I don't ride agressive, stunt, or do trackdays so I'm able to be more conservative on my tires.
For the record, I didn't like the Conti-Forces...they sucked ass. The Supermaxx's are a dream compared to them. Next month or so I'll be putting Road Attacks on her. I can't wait! :D |

The only reason I got the Maxxis after the Conti-Forces is because I got a deal on them. I would have went with the Road Attacks then if I could have gotten them at what I could afford at the time. When I bought tires a couple of weeks ago, I knew I wanted to Road Attacks and started researching to see who had the better price. Ridedirect had the best price and had them to me in about 3 working days. :dthumb: Here's the link if you're interested: http://www.ridedirect.com/showProduc...=440&cat_id=42 |
thanks, that's cheaper than I can get a set of PP's!

So anyway, I average about 4500 out of Sport Tour tires and about 3000 out of sport tires, but it really depends on where and how hard I ride them. Just street riding I've gotten as much as 6K out of a set and as few as 700. Actually the cords were showing through at 735 miles on a front. I guess I was a little too hard on it. |
Any of you ever run the Shinko's?? I had them on my Kat when I first got it and I got around 2500 out of them and the PO said he had got somewhere around 2 on it already. I thougth that was pretty good. I ended up buying another set and I thought they did really well for the type riding that I do, and seemed to heat up fairly quick.
I was just looking at Bike Bandit and I could get a complete set for $170. I think that's awesome as if I were to bust one or what have you, I wouldn't be out much money and I could afford to have two sets of tires a year and still get more mileage than what most get at the same price for one set. I'm not a track rider and I don't totaly eat up the twisties, but I do need something to handle pretty well and I thought that these did. http://www.bikebandit.com/product/13854 |

i would pass on those, you can get pirelli diablo's on ebay from the guy i got my corsa iii's for $265 shipped for a 120/70 front and a 190/50 rear! |
one track day and about 2500 road miles on Metzler Racetech softs. The sides are shredded but the centers are pretty much untouched. I ride back and forth to work on the interstate mostly.
|
I have about 8800 miles on my Pilot Road 2 on the rear. It's only worn on the las 1/8" of the tire on the sides. The middle still has the mold release compound on it.

Shinko's are generally considered a drag tire, hence the quick warm up. |

dont confuse shinko with cheng shin lol |
Yeah the one's that I linked to are the sport touring tires. I'm thinking really hard about getting another set of those tires. I have had two set already and they were awesome for me and my riding style. Yamerhaw did bring up a good point today on the phone, they may do and handle very differently on this bike compared to the Katana. ???
Hell, for the money, I could give 'em a try and see what happens. If I don't like them, I could always sell them for a profit up here. :D (don't laugh......I'm bad for shit like that ;) ) |

I've never gotten more than 4,000 miles out of any tire.
|
Original tires lasted the longest at 5466 miles, they always seem to when the bike is brand new.
Set #2 at 4594 Set #3 at 2036 - needed new ones for 5 days of track time (all within 8 days) Up to this point I had always put the OEMs back on (Bridgestones), but for #4 they were no longer available. I stuck with Bridgestone but chose the BT014. Set #4 at 1582 - another 4 days of straight track time I tend to run lower pressures in them so I don't get as much life out. I'd rather have the grip and sacrifice some life. About once a year I get new tires. Thankfully I can get them pretty cheap. I do a bulk order with a group of friends/co-workers so we get a wholesale discount. |
16,000 first set
14,500 second set |

me either |
I usually get 5K out of the tires, either Dunlops or Avons. Good for the riding I do, lots of commuting, some road trips, and a few cornering rides.
|
my pilot sports are prettymuch done right now at about 7800
|
I got about 11k out of my stock Suzuki Boulevard dunlops, but I won't try that again.
