Well, its time the 1000 finds a new home. I had three bikes and this is the last one. I am selling them to fund a new bike, something sport touring in nature. I am not certain what the new one will be, but this has gotta go first.
Has flush mount front turn signals LED tail light with the turn signals built in. fender eliminator. New back tire with about 60 miles on it. Engine ice coolant after market wind screen The mileage is about 3500.. not exact miles, but I am out of town. can check when I get home tomorrow. Attachment 3732 Attachment 3733 Pictures are probably not the best, but its all I have on this puter... Going to put it up on CL.. ask $5500. If anyone is interested let me know |

Nice work. but 3500 miles on an 04?? did you ever ride the damn thing?

However, with my shoulder and knee fucked up, a race replica just wasn't doing it anymore. I am to the point where I no longer desire to see how fast I can run a lap, just wanna ride...So a sport tourer seems like the likely choice. |
Understandable. So what do you have in mind?
|
I don't know, no cruisers...just not my thing.... I have been surfing the web checkin out bikes. but nothing catches my eye... any suggestions?
|
Depends on how much "sport" and how much "touring" you want, and if you want any dual sport/adventure thrown in.
Busa/ZX14 Bandit 1250 FZ1/FZ6 Buell Ulysses KTM Adventure |
Honda Interceptor?? A friend of mine who lives near you has one and absolutely loves it.
Bike was gorgeous by the way. |

There's a dealer in St louis that will sell me a brand new 08 zx14 for 8000. I just don't care much for the styling of it...
I am looking at Busas and the bandit...never thought about Buell, have to go by the stealer and check it out.. I think they let you test ride them.... Hows your Buell treating you? Quote:

It could make an okish touring bike with convertabars and a DB screen, and possibly a more comfy seat. Biggest prob is the 140 mile range. :idk: It's a typical twin though, great torque and rideable power everywhere. |
holy shit you sold that fast
|
are aftermarket parts plentiful?

Found a pic of one from a badweb member. Put on hard bags, corbin seats, and a tank bag.

Super clean bike...congrats on the sale. Definately check out the Buells. They will let you demo them too. Report back with your findings.

Got back into town today. Went by the closest Buell dealer ( which is 20 miles from my house. Harley dealers every fuckin 20 ft but none sell Buells)
Store was pretty busy (they also sell Harleys). I go inside and talk to the sales guy. They have two 2008s and 10 2009s 1125r. The best they will do is knock $1000 off an 08 and $300 off an 09. So I ask him if I can test ride it? He says "well dude, its cold outside...kinda windy...if you want to write up a deal first, I can get a plate" I told him that I wasn't buying dick till I test ride. Then he says he is new and has to ask his manager. I said fuck it and left. So, friday I am going to a different Buell dealer , then look at the Busas and a connie. |

There are guys on badweb picking them up for 9K + TTL in places. |

Also...some dealers are selling 08 1125's for 7995 + tax...so look for a solid deal...not just a grand off. |
Marko, do you where the dealers are that sell for 8k?
|
A used Blackbird is very fast, smooth, and comfortable. They go for $3500-5000 in my area.
