Out of Curiosity...Any JB Weld on your Bike?
Is anything on your bike JB Welded on?
After my husband dropped my bike (:tt:) he had to JB Weld one of the blinkers back on. Luckily you cannot tell at all but it is still there. I think I also have some tabs and cracks JB Welded too. So does JB Weld hold your bike together at all? |
I swear by the stuff, and it is tough. Just none on my current ride. I used it to glue a shifter tip back on once and I was suprized it held till I parted out that bike... theres a lot of stress at a shifter tip! Its all in the prep work.

new bike? not yet.
Old bike, hell yes. |
Dammit! I was going to but a "only on old bikes" option and did not. :td:
|
not on the suzi, but i had some on the kawi for a lil while, then i grinded it off when i had the chance and used a welder cuz it looks neater to me
|
A tiny bit of epoxy on the one fairing tab- but that doesn't count. It's strictly there to reinforce my plastic weld.

JB Weld? Hell no, not on my bike... EVER.
|
Don't get me started on the JB Weld. Some of you know about my fiasco last year.:bash:
|
Yep... broke a tab on a heat shield... jb welded it back together on the backside so you couldn't see it.

i think we need a zip tie option tho... |
On the Buell, no. On the Zuk, yes....but it didn't hold shit.
|
used it to hold my license plate on, but the other day goin home i heard a 'plop' and no more plate...
|
the hurricane briefly had a mirror jb welded on but that was only until a new nos mirror arrived from bike bandit. that bitch needed zip strips to survive though

I've tried JB weld on a few occasions and have never had much luck with it. I've been considering using it to hold one of the tabs that hold my front fender on until I get my new forks back from Race Tech. I'd weld it but me and cast alum don't weld well. I tend to blow it away... FYI RT can straighten bent forks, $75 each. As long as there isn't a "crease" in the tube.

Oh how about duct tape? This is a cobble job I did for a buddy after he rear ended me on International Speedway, the first day in Daytona in 1998. I did this while he was in the hospital getting a cast. The head light is one off a GM car I bought at K-Mart,along with the duct tape, across the street while we waited for him to be released....

No JB Weld on either bike but they are both 07's. I almost put race baffled cans on my R1 and some of the guys were having issues with the rivets on the cans when putting them back together and started using JB Weld to keep the rivets from coming loose which I would have done also...so...."almost". :idk:
