Test Rode a new R1
Did not like....
While the engine was cool and all, the bike was fairly heavy and the suspension needed to be setup correctly. I did like the A/B/C mode. Started out on standard, but the Race mode was much better, minus the twitchy on/off throttle response. I'll stick to my ZX6r for the canyons. |
I don't like how hot the exhaust gets, feels like I'm roasting everytime I ride it.

How bout the ergos, always notcied they seem more comfortable than the other liter bikes, esp for bigger guys

It probably seemed bad at the time because I had just sat on a gsxr1k. That bike fit me like a glove. |

I saw one ride by me on the highway, sounded like a v-twin but it was most certainly an R1. Twin - 2 bros carbon fiber cans. Sounded tits.

Its looks and sounds sweet, I've actually put more miles on it than him since he has a broken collarbone. I love to ride it on occasion, but WOULD NOT buy one |

From what I've seen, most of you don't actually commute on sportbikes, so the whole thing about comfort and heat isn't a big concern IMO. I'd much rather have an R1 over the Honda or the Zuk. The Kwak might be a different story though..... I'd have to compare. |

Nice gear. |
That is on Malibu Canyon in CA, but those bikes are still heavy in comparison. A 600 would eat them alive with equal riders.
Homeslice you would like a 1000rr...very refined bike and fits like a Gixxer 750. |
If you want a liter bike, there's many reasons why Motorcyclist magazine picked the Ninja 1000 as Motorcycle of the Year.
