Sexy bike...i love the lines on those, everything except the massive rear fender, i wish the designer would do something about those.

Yeah I plan on either a, slip on (m4} or fenderectomy as the next mod

the chi 04-12-2011 12:28 PM

I'd go with the fenderectomy, that exhaust is  I really like those stock.

RACER X 04-12-2011 12:48 PM

Yeah plus it's $140vs $300 lol

RACER X 04-13-2011 02:49 PM

Sv forum peeps say a rear shock from an 06/07 gsxr600/750 will fit w/o any major probs. So $30, that's the next mod

tommymac 04-13-2011 03:57 PM

I have one if you want it.

Cass 04-13-2011 04:19 PM

06/07 gsxr600/750?

1000's shocks won't work

Pm me a price, ebay $30 delivered

tommymac 04-13-2011 07:08 PM

600/750

let me find out the shipping costs and tack on a 5 spot or something and its yours. Just want it out of the garage since my 750 is rockin the ohlins.

I think it looks cool. I actually like the exhaust, which is rare on a stocker.

No worries, removing it and swapping the ohlins didnt take too long for me but I did have most of the bike taken apart already, tank had to come off to properly do the job, but the tank I had was trashed anyway.

Make sure to upgrade the fork springs/oil at the same time, riding it with a quality rear shock and shitty front suspension is not a fun time.

Just make sure that the difference in length doesn't make a significant difference in the handling. You probably won't notice it on the street but it will probably be very different at the track.

I did a similar shock swap on the SV using the rear shock from a XZ14R

What he said. I thought "how bad could it possibly be" when I did the rear but was waiting on the parts for the front.

Think pogo stick bolted to a rock.
