2011 Kawi ZX10 Pic
1 Attachment(s)
From the Roadracing World site, Official Kawi release of what looks to be a WSBK spec tester being ridden today at Suzuka.
|
sort of want, i think
|
I put a link in the other thread, there's pics and vid on hell for leather
|
|
Chain goes through the swingarm? Wtf
|
Awesome site, great link Dave!
Just another literbike, but will it perform?! Can a screamer make it in WSBK? Other than Haslam and last years Rea Checa Honda bit none has for like an eternity... |

Ftr, so far kawi claims 200-190 hp and at least 30 lbs lost from the gen3 |

I'm trying to figure out what the headlights will look like. Sharp, pointy headlights on a Ninja???
LOOK AT THE CF!!!! http://hellforleathermagazine.com/ga...i-ZX-10R-1.jpg |

Pics don't do a bike justice more often than not. I wouldn't mind seeing one in person.

http://pictures.topspeed.com/IMG/cro...-13_460x0w.jpg only one thing is for sure... it'll be fugly |

who cares if its ugly?
The DRZ aint exactly a work of art....Do you like to ride it? Then fuck everyone else |
Quote:
last good looking bike from Kawi was the ZX6R 636... IMO the DRZ is fucking ugly as sin... but it's an off road bike... not meant to be sleek and sexy like a sport bike. |

My 'sniff' 2005 636, was special. She is gone but not forgotten. The 26K I put on her was hard and fast but she was infallible and I have had 10 middleweights from each brand to compare it to.
This ten should be special if the patents all work as advertised. Maybe the first supersport liter bike I will own. |

No, I needa remove it from my tag. Sold it for medical/ dental bills. Had a forum friend who had an R6s forever, he traded for a new R6, then totalled it. He needed a good no finance ride and I needed to shake off some small bills so...
|
Gotcha, sucks letting go doesn't it?
|
I think my year Kawi has Nice lines...I'll agree they went from Curvy Lines to Rugged Hard angles on there bikes...But it really isnt THAT bad.
Hell I'd rather see em change there styles up more often than roll with the same shit year in and year out like Suzuki and Honda. |

But I completely know what you mean. I used to love the 600RR back in gen 1, and into gen 2. Gen 3 was too naked for my tastes, and by gen 4.... I just want something new! The R6 is getting close. Hopefully the R6 will be turned over by the '12 model. |

I think anything after 04-05 went downhill and continues that trend, but it's my opinion. They seem to have got heavier, the ass even wider, and very hard on the lines instead of smooth and flowing.
And this 2011 looks even worse.... WTF is the Kawi green? |
kawi green= the new cf lolz

I'll agree with Porkchop..the 2008 ZX6r and 2006/2007 ZX10r were the best designs from 2004 up. |

I read some idiots comments yesterday on the hellforleather website. They we're ignorantly bashing the bike but I have a feeling when a tester comes out it will have some serious challenge for the BMW and Aprilia, not the the race teams have enough talent to make it show.
Supposed to be a true screamer with good throttle/tire connection. A total dream if they can pull it off... |
Interesting stuff on the challenge-kawasaki site, they have a twitterish feed going on noting changes and upgrades for the new bike. Yesterday they mentioned a doohan style thumb brake. I'm assuming this is only for the race bike and the marketing guys slapped it in there cause it sounds cool. Wonder though if sbk homogolation rules would require it on the production bike after the aprilia rule changes? Anyone know? Potential awesome

Maybe so...They had no idea of anything beyond dyno graphs. 'More peak please'
The whole point is the reduction of the peaks and valleys so that there is a consistent and smooth application of power, duh...If you have to spin it higher to get there so be it. Yamaha just caved and threw in a cross plane crank and variable intakes to solve the riddle even at a cost of peak numbers, Kawi thinks a conventional crank spinning faster will do the same while bettering the peak numbers higher in the rpm band... |
kawi officially unveiled the racebike today at the nurburgring, looks good in green!

Kawi needs to hire a better photog.

Looks good, the blue pinstripes set it off
|
I could give 2 shits less about how it looks. Looks fine, just tell me how it works. Can it lap with the BMW and Aprillia?? Can it handle with an R1?
|
I care about the shit skills Kawi's fotog possesses. Sucks ass.

im not expecting dick from the other three this fall, might see something end of next year though. interested to see what yamaha does now. they've kinda painted themselves into a corner with the crossplane, moving from that format so soon might be embarrasing (not to mention guys like me will be stuffing crow down any yammy fans throats we can find ) but i cant quite see them reliably hitting the power figures. time will tell |

http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b3...ang/leaked.jpg October 5 is fast approaching my friends ;) |
|
WANT. Led bar tach, fuck yes
|
Not the best looking bike imho but no doubt it's going to be a badazz.
|
makes me kinda warm and fuzzy inside.
And I know what you mean about Yamaha and the cross plane. Remember how long they rode the 5 valve head last time they thought they invented the wheel? This ZX may hand it to the other in line 4s and with Ducati absent for a year or so... |
Just saw the front on the black one. So sex.....

Not a fan. I'm with Racedoll, things seem to look worse to me not better.
I adore my 06, and don't mind a bit after that. But this one just looks angular and fugly to me. |

2005 - 374.9 2008 - 395 This would indicate that at least part of your statement above is incorrect. Didn't bother to look up power. I still don't like the 2011. It looks like the ass end is just hanging out there like some stretched poser bike. |

Ok I miss-read. LED. Whatever. I still hate it. Suck it. Fuck it. Out.

Quoting myself, I still could give a fuck less what it looks like OR what the tach reads...If it walks the walk...it is a win.

Here is some more information on the bike. Kawasaki is claiming 197hp at the crank, jumping to 207hp once ram air is factored in. |
|
yeah i def. like the looks of it. & it sounds like it 'should' be even more of a beast. we'll seee.

Wow, I was really a fan of the older ninjas right up until 2008 when they started to get ugly. the last generation looked cross eyed and sad. This new generation looks cross eyed and angry. Just not my cup of tea I guess
|
I like it
|
i love this monster. changelog in that .pdf has some very interesting info in it as well, lots of well thought out features. kinda surprised they claimed to not have used torque plates up till now. i mean i dont know how it works for new engines but you wouldnt want bore work done without one
|
I still don't love it. I just looks all stretched out to me.
I'm sure it's fun as hell to ride though! |

Roadracinworld.com and hellforleather.com both have comprehensive previews of the '11 10 and the full faired Z1000S. Also goodies on the new GSXR 600/750 and an 1198sp. Good stuff.

I dont care what Yamaha builds next. To me I love the new Kwak cause it is the new tech speed king, but at the same time I am an old guy and the no tech Suz 750 makes me wanna see how fast I, the rider and wrist alone, can make it go.
600s? I have had too many. They are just too middle of the road for me. |

Gixxer 6/750 has regressed in styling. What a fugly front end from the front, not bad from the side. Chassis looks a ton shorter than the previous gen. GSR750 on the otherhand looks awesome... MV Augusta F3 supersport???? |
