What do you expect China to do? Half of their population rides two-stroke crap. :lol:

Well we can thank China...
China played games such as having some middle of the totem pole official take the place of China's leader in talks with other world leaders (even sitting across from President Obama) and then having the guy go make phone calls to his superior. They kept stalling the meetings and wanted to flex their muscles as a new super power and on top of that make it look like an Obama faillure and that the rich nations walked away because of their greed.

It worked very well.

According to the author, China first sent only a second tier representative to the talks to which other countries sent thier heads of state (and would often cause big delays because he would have to make phone calls to his superiors). It then proceeded to destroy any results by using its so called proxy or puppet states like Sudan to derail the open-session talks, and directly wreck the closed-session talks or whittle down the language of restrictions it didn't like until the "regulation" was worthless. The author assumes China did this to protect its growing coal industry, which is the basis of its growing power and dominance on the world stage.

My point was that we haven't failed to care about protecting our interests as a nation (as Dave suggested), we just had the wrong people trying to do it, and they ended up doing it rather horribly.
