Who rode today?
Three of us went out today, rode 110 miles today:whatwhat:
It's supposed to be mid 70's tomorrow so we are going for the hat trick:rockwoot: 3 days of nice riding. |
I did. Perfect weather too...right around 70* so not too hot and not too cold. Although I did wear my thermal pants and shirt. :D
Good day. :beers: |
I didn't... did a bit of wiring, added radiator protection, and new foot pegs to the DRZ...
struggled with the gas tank more than I should have... |

I really need to invest in a good camera and start taking pics, it was absolutely beautiful.

And I found out that my reserve will take me 8 miles, which was just far enough to get me to the gas station. :hangman: |

and because it's setup so that each side is separate... at 190ish... I gotta lean the bike on it's side to get the fuel to the petcock side... so it's kind of a secondary reserve... then at 218 I gotta LAY the bike down... to let that last little bit flow over to the pet cock... so that's like tertiary reserve (dunno how much this last bit will get me... as I stopped 4 miles later) still have about 20 miles worth of un useable fuel... but ehh... such is life. |
I'm going to head out tomorrow (took the day off because it looks like it will be nice) and head down route 20 ( http://www.usroute20ny.com/ ) to take in some sights.

Got about 70 in myself yesterday, our ride wa scut short due to us chatting with some guy we met by the marina we took a break at. Still was nice to get some miles in on the buell.
Tom |
I did about 10 miles.
The bike was caked in mud, so I rode to the car wash to spray it down. The minute I was finished, it started to rain. |
74 and sunny yesterday so we headed out for about a 2 hour run...then came home and blew leaves around and cut grass.

Did wash the cars though |

I was going to put front brakes on the Jeep but my freakin' floor jack broke yesterday with the Jeep jacked up...luckily the jack stands caught it but then it was too low to put the tire back on or get the Jeep off the broken floor jack. :whatwhat:  Luckily I had an old floor jack and a 4"x4" and was able to get the Jeep high enough to remove the jack that was leaking fluid everywhere out and get my tire back on. After that I said screw it and the wife and I took off on the bikes. :lol I still had crap to do in the yard when I got back plus the Panthers were on TV starting at 4 pm and I wanted to catch some of the game. I'm off Wednesday for Vereran's day so I'll get another jack and attempt to change the brakes again. |
Felt pretty crappy this weekend, so I got almost nothing done despite absolutely perfect weather :( Rode my wife's VLX in to work today since I didn't have the energy to replace the flat tire on my SV.
Looks like it could be my last ride for the week, freaking freak storms... |
I got a few miles in last night. Rode to band practice and back. Traffic sucked, but the HID is awesome at night. Saw a few deer making eyes at me. Then the bolt that holds my shifter on fell out going down the road. Awesome. Rode home without shifting gears.

I figured as much. I was implying as to what I'd need to do to convert my bike to that or whatever.

Just did about 20 miles at night. It wasn't particularly cold. 40's or so. I had no real destination. Just wanted to get out on the bike.

And this sucker was mostly plug and play. But I wired a relay to the battery to take the load off the stock wireharness. There have been reports of the HID melting the stock connections. But, if you so desire it is completely plug and play. I dont have any pics of the stock set up...but here's a couple of the HID. It's an 8000k bulb. Looks incredible at night. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2534/...33416177_b.jpg The ballast was mounted right between the lights. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2556/...c34d5291_b.jpg And the relay going back to the battery: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3461/...2b823341_b.jpg |
