Son of a whore!!! I got a speeding ticket!!!

:panic::rant:

The no good SOB didn't have murderers and rapists to catch or what? I only did 70-something in a 45 zone!!!:idk: He did knock it down to 10 over.:dthumb:

KTM is the work of the devil, I tell you what. I never had the urge to speed whenever I'm on my Beemer. I tried to tell him that it couldn't have been that fast because I was on a dirt bike:whistle: He said, "nice try but I know my motorcycles." Just my luck that I got a damn motor cop that knows motorcycles.:zowned:

i've never been let of by a cop that rides motorcycles... where the hell is the brotherhood?

I've been let off about 1/3 of the times...

on a bike im usually gone:leaving:

t-homo 04-12-2008 06:35 PM

One of my friends license had just expired like ten days before and he got pulled over for like 12 over. Cop let him off because he said that his license was expired too. Lucky SOB.

Dave 04-12-2008 06:40 PM

is it wrong that i was kinda hoping it would be on the new aprilia?

DLIT 04-12-2008 07:57 PM

Almost evry time I get pulled over on my bike, the cop cuts me a break because I actually pulled over and didn't run. They actually thank me/us.

marko138 04-12-2008 08:54 PM

Never pulled over on the bike. Never let off in the car. Assholes.

Thats how my experiences have been too.

PhiSig1071 04-12-2008 10:27 PM

I was praying it was going to be on the scooter!

I have never been let off by a cop on the bike, I even waited for a cop once ('cause I knew he had me dead to rights) and the cop almost passed me, and then still gave me a ticket. Hell, I had an FHP trooper hit me with his car, and STILL write me a $300 ticket. And with the new law going into effect in FL that would have meant my bike and my license would have been gone. And they wonder why people run? Hell, if this keeps up I might start.

NONE_too_SOFT 04-12-2008 10:32 PM

loosing your license is not fun. oh god. the things we take for granted.

You mean downgrade?

I had some loser at a Harley shop ask what I rode. Ninja650R, and I'm looking at the 1125R. He said I should upgrade to a Harley. I told him, "What, and loose all the power, handling and light weight so I can make noise? No thanks."

FN, I had a cop do the same thing. 70 in a 50 and he wrote me for 59.

LOL, maybe some truth to that. Pulled over once on my harley and i speed alot. Cop let me off with a mild warning to take it easy and enjoy the ride(something like that). Cops seem to not care if your speeding on a harley???...just my experience.

yup same double standard when it comes to noise ordinance enforcement blasting rap music you get a ticket blast by on open piped harley you get a thumbs up. thankfully here in town somone successfully fought a noise ticket and the police department pledged to worry about more important things.....

I'm about the same. I have no respect for Harley's design, 50 or so horsepower from damn near 2 liters is pathetic and the torque does not make up for it when you compare it to the metric cruisers/tourers.

Having said that, they're made for a different purpose than what I use my bike for.
Just like comparing sports cars to minivans, it's apples and oranges.

PhiSig1071 04-13-2008 09:55 PM

Gotta be honest, I think the new Nightster is a sick looking bike. And the Cross Bones is pretty cool looking too, although I don't like the ape's and fat front, it's still kinda neat. I'd have one as about a fifth bike. (I'm actually going to look at another bike this friday, so I'll be there pretty soon  )

Its all gearing. my sportster does about 45mph in first gear at 6000rpm. When you consider most sportbikes do about 60-80mph in first at 14,000rpms you notice theres a huge gear reduction that gives them that acceleration. In effect the harley if it could rev to 14000 rpms it would do about 110mph in first gear. Thats all good and well, you have no respect and obviously it wont change your mind but ide love to race you on any metric cruiser comparable to my sportster since you stated yourself that compairing YOUR bike to a harley is like compairing apples to oranges or sportscars to minivans. lets race minivans, ill give you a headstart.

1. I think the R6 does about 100 in first (or was that shit4life saying that)

2. a Harley reving to 14000? shit... I wouldn't put my balls anywhere near that motor...

I was taking what i know, my 2002 gsxr 750 does around 80(indicated) in first.
And yeah, a 3.5" piston on a 3" stroke at 14000rpms would be slightly risky as well as those 10" lawndarts called pushrods set to the right of them.

OneSickPsycho 04-13-2008 11:01 PM

Apples to oranges comparison. Harleys do what they are designed to do very well... fit and finish is unsurpased... reliability is dialed in, but people don't want to let the old AMF days die...

I shouldn't say that... It oozes... not even... the fucking front rocker panel wets the outside of the jug... fuck, I have no idea how to describe it... It's never wet, but the matte silver finish is blackened slightly from oil residue...

No... fuck that frame puck... That's literally going to be the last thing I do...

I've been so busy with work that I haven't had time and/or energy to work on it... I finally got the last parts off of it and will be sending them to powdercoat tomorrow... I should be able to finish it off the week after next... Cutting it real fucking close to the Cali trip (may 16th), but I gotta do what I gotta do...

While I am waiting for the parts to come in from powder coat I can reassemble the subframe (that I might have to repaint :cursin: cause while the damage didn't show through the primer, it shows through the paint :wtf:)... I can get the front end back together too...

I guesstimate I've got about 15 hours and 30 beers left to go... if everything goes smoothly...

Mr Lefty 04-13-2008 11:41 PM

nice... do the painting first... don't wanna see a 30beer paintjob

Ummm...just no. It's not the gearing that makes my bike go fast in all gears and yours go slow in all gears. It's about my bike having a modern, well made, cutting edge engine (in 2003) which makes 160 hp with 990 cc's, and your bike with it's antiquated engine making something way under 100 hp with almost double my displacement.
I'll give you 7 gears and I'll just take 2...and I'll still destroy you. Getting hypothetical with "if harleys could rev past..." is just silly.

Now see your changing the race, you told phenix that he couldn't shake you on his 650, which I'm calling bullshit on for his bike and for my bike and just about any other sportbike on here. YOU brought up keeping up with sportbikes, I didn't.
I'll let you put nitrous on a vrod and I'll still rape you any ol day of the week. Power to weight my friend.

And if you wanna race cruisers, I'll take a Triumph Rocket III.

Phoenix is in PA and that offer is still open. me meeting you realistically is probably not gonna happen. you brought up metric cruisers knowing that your bike is a modern bike and comparison between the both is apples to oranges thats why i offered a real comparison between my cruiser and your choice of metric crusier of equal displacement.

double displacement? 600cc turning 14000rpms is displacing more cfm than 1200cc turning 6000rpms.

That hypothesis is just what torque is. its not could the bike rev to there but more like this is how its geared.

And Huntington Beach was so crowded that even the motorbikes were having problems with lane splitting. Not so with me and my scooter, we were weaving in and out like Valentino Rossi eating up Mugello.:rockwoot:

It was on PCH. Not only the traffic was bad but the cops were out too. The meter maids were writing tickets on bikes that didn't park close enough to the curbs. There were Ducati 999 running around out there with the dry clutches all fucked out because of the traffic, slipping and sliding. One lone dude on an MV Agusta F4 with boiling over radiator.

More pics at the 2-strokes bike day. It was meant to celebrate two-strokers but a bunch of four-strokers came as well.
