Whats your worst night of the year?

out here its labor day weekend. they have the caribean day parade in brooklyn and every yahoo goes out and gets drunk and they start shooting each other. Fortunatley I am far away iN PA at the CF rally being a drunken yahoo.

3 years ago one of our attendings worked trauma/critical care and sent 8 peopel to the morgue, 5 doa's and trauma surgery took 4 more gsw's to the OR and that was in an 8 hr shift on monday morning of the parade.

my friends(that worked in the er) always hated the 4th... lots of drunk'n firework accidents

I just had an actual burglary at a store. Busted door & store front glass.

We dont get many of them here, not much with fire works, now knives and guns on the other hand.

I worked the 4th this year and it def was busy, spoke with a few of the ems guys and they said there were a lot of shootings this year.

Damn just went through my charts, I have seen 22 patients since 9pm. Guess I earned my keep tonight, and thats with 2 real shitty nurses.

Two more actuals tonight. One at a school where the "suspect" hurt his knee & an ambulance was called. Guess who's going to be paying for that ride & ER visit & maybe even an out of court settlement since he was knocked to the ground by a LEO when he ran.... :rolleyes:

We had a few of those alleged police brutality cases tonight as well wonder where they will wind up going if anywhere.
