I lot of people that I know have given up on built in armor. Also, there is a mindset that espouses the belief that you can curtail some of the necessary size compromises when you do separate armor and get a suit that is better tailored to your body. Which is supposedly better in the safety department as well as better aerodynamically.:idk:
