I be home. Busy busy night last night. We were slammed almost all night. There were a lot of people coming in with some heavy duty lacerations, broken bones, and various assault related injuries. Must have been a rough night out there. Lots of no speaky english types too. If it were just spanish, it would be a problem, but when the Russians, Hungarians, and Creole speakers come in, things get a little more difficult.

the russian speaking people here are a huge problem too. nobody at the police station, ems or fire department speaks russian so when we get those calls, we're pretty much fucked

I had to register a guy tonight who spoke two languages; russian and horrible spanish. It was... interesting. We have some fancy language hotline with two receivers that is wonderful in theory. Plug in the phone into a special outlet, give the patient one receiver and use the other receiver, patch into the language line and get a translator for various languages. Again, beautiful in theory, but it seems to be limited to Spanish, French, Creole, and Portuguese.

And I hate to stereotype, but fuck, does every Russian who comes into the ER have to have a broken nose and be piss ass drunk? It's all the same shit, just a bunch of drunks getting into a fight at the bars, getting fucked up, then coming into the ER and blaming it on "the blacks". It must be a russian script that they all follow.

It's funny shit. We get the broken english wives also. Maybe it's because we're so damn close to Miami, but they all have awfully done fake tits, like they got them at Pedro's Meat Shop and Plastic Surgery Van. And the guys always make it a point to drop not so subtle hints about their connection to the russian mafia. Some of them seem like they probably do have ties, others just look like fuck heads trying to impress us.

that boob job is nationwide my friend. although nobody around here admits to russian mob connections, but we know who is and it's most of them.
